This is a continuation from last weeks blog on hair for weddings and special occasions. We will be looking at different braids which is another popular style for both the bride and bridesmaids. I will be showing you 2 demos; French & Rope.
The 1st is a rope braid and looks extremely cute on your younger bridesmaids and flower girls. You can add flowers or diamantes to match the theme of your wedding.
A couple of tips for the rope braid:
- When you twist the strands twist in the opposite way to the way you are braiding
- I went from ear to ear but you can go all the way around the head and halo it. You will see an example of this in the photos attached
- If you can’t get clean sections with your fingers use a pin tail comb
The 2nd is a french braid which I have done as a band from ear to ear but this can also be done as a halo.
Both braids can be added detail to a chignon and for those with long volumous hair you can use the french braid to create a Grecian style which you can see in the images below, for a wedding you could add flowers and curls to give it that romantic feel. To get the fullness you may need to add extensions for the big day.
